Murmur is a dynamic and immersive audio-visual experience for amplified stereo sound and two projectors. Installed in an enclosed space it creates a dynamic alien architecture that confronts the mediation of our experiences – communication, place, even nature— by technology.
Amber Vistein and Amanda Justice are long-time collaborators who met at the Studio for Interrelated Media MFA program at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. They both graduated in 2013 and created two collaborative thesis projects: Phantom Loops a site-specific installation for programed light, tactile and amplified sound, and knit VHS tapes; and The Unnamable an immersive audio-visual experience for projection, glass helmet, and sound inspired by Beckett’s third novel.
